Why Choose SkinPen Precision (Collagen Induction Therapy)
SkinPen is the only medical microneedling device available in UK. SkinPen organically stimulates the skin’s natural ability to repair itself. As we age the natural architecture of our skin deteriorates. This deterioration leads to fine lines, wrinkles, large pores and uneven skin texture.
SkinPen comfortably creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries in the skin to trigger the body’s natural wound healing process. This process results in the formation and remodelling of collagen, which supports the underlying tissues.
Topical aesthetic is used prior to the procedure, so the treatment is entirely comfortable. The result is more youthful and tighter looking skin. SkinPen Precision can also be used to treat pigmentation, acne scarring, certain types of scars and as an effective treatment for ageing of the hands. Downtime following the procedure is minimal, redness persists for 24-48 hours following the procedure.
Appropriate products will be given to you to apply to your skin following treatment, you cannot apply any other products to your skin for a 24hour period. Can also be used to treat the neck and décolleté region.
SkinPen FAQs
Does it hurt?
A topical anaesthetic is applied to the whole face prior to the procedure, so the whole procedure feels entirely comfortable.
When can expect to see results?
A course of 3-6 SkinPen Precision treatments are usually recommended depending on the condition you are treating. A visible difference is sometimes seen after just one treatment. The process of collagen proliferation and then maturation continues for up to 300 days post procedure, so results continue to improve over time.
Is there any downtime?
Yes you will look quite red following your procedure, like severe sun burn. This will persist for 24-48 hours. You will be able to apply make up after 24 hours to help cover this. You won’t be able to wash your face for 24 hours. You will receive a post procedure kit to look after your skin in the week following your procedure at the time of treatment. You may experience some mild shedding/ peeling of the skin, similar to a chemical peel in the week following on from your procedure.
How long do the results last?
Following on from a course of treatments you could expect to need one treatment every six months to maintain the results.
