AlumierMD skin consultations
Medical grade peels and prescription skincare
AlumierMD is a luxury medical skincare brand. This means that their products contain a therapeutic dose of the active ingredients that are required to deliver change in the skin. Their in-clinic treatments are complimented by their range of at home skincare products. Wethers it’s sensitive skin, dry skin, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne or ageing, we can put together a regime to target your specific skin problems.
Alumier’s philosophy is progression not aggression
Although a single peel will provide an immediate brightening effect on the skin, more significant results will be seen over a course of treatment. Only 50% of the results are achieved in clinic, with the other 50% being realised at home with Alumier MDs prescription home care products. All of our peels include one weeks post procedure kit, so you have exactly the right skincare to apply to your skin for one week following the procedure.
Alumier MD offer superficial and mid depth peels, which have far less downtime and side effects than deeper peels while achieving radiant results. Alumier’s philosophy is progression not aggression. AlumierMD believe in clean science, their sophisticated formulas are unfragranced, free from parabens, sulphites and dyes. All their packaging is recyclable and all their ingredients are ethically sourced.
Good skin is not a one off treatment or product, it’s an ongoing journey.
Optimum Skin Health & Ageing
As we age our cell turnover slows down and our fibroblasts decrease production of collagen and elastin. Retinol and peptides are essential to reverse the signs of ageing as they are the only two ingredients proven to stimulate fibroblasts.
Every persons skin needs good skin care even if no pressing conditions are present. A daily broad spectrum sunscreen, antioxidant and gentle exfoliation will maintain a beautiful complexion and delay the signs of ageing.
AlumierMDs’ hero ingredients when treating Rosacea are Hinokitiol, Sea Whip, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3). Together the have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties which strengthen skin cells and capillaries as well as relieve redness and inflammation.
Treating acne is a multi-dimensional task. Exfoliation must be enhanced to remove cell build up, sebum production must be controlled and P.acnes bacteria and inflammation must be reduced.
Whether you are aiming or correct photo-damage, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or hormone related melasma, the melanocytes need to be suppressed. Exfoliation will remove pigmented skin cells and accelerate results.
Alumier chemical peels FAQs
What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, including exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin cells to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant completion.
AlumierMD offers light to medium depth peels know for their excellent results and safety profile. We believe in repeated treatments for progressive and gradual results to avoid and downtime associated with deeper peels. AlumierMD peels are only performed by trained skin care professionals in a clinical setting to ensure they are delivered safely and effectively.
Does it hurt?
The AlumierMD peels we offer come in 2 different types. They are either superficial or mid depth. A superficial peels may either have no sensation on the clients skin or may feel slightly ‘itchy’ on the skin. A mid depth peel has a chilli warmth sensation on the skin. The ‘peel’ part of our bespoke peel is only applied to the skin for between 5-20mins during the 90min treatment. The feeling of the peel sensation will be continuously monitored by your practitioner to make sure it is comfortable for you.
Will I peel after a peel?
You may peel after a peel, if it is going to happen it usually occurs on days 3-6 post peel. If you don’t peel, it doesn’t mean that the treatment hasn’t worked, you will still be shedding dead skin cells on a microscopic level.
When can expect to see results?
Beautiful skin doesn’t happen overnight. One single chemical peel will provide an immediate effect of bright and radiant skin. However, for significant results dealing with acne, rosacea, ageing or pigmentation problems we would recommend a course of 6 treatments.
Using homecare products consistently and in conjunction with your in-clinic treatments will achieve optimal results. Just as you take time to exercise, you need to take time for your “daily skincare workout regime”.
Is there any downtime?
You won’t be able to apply makeup or wash your face for the rest of the day. You may experience some mild shedding/ flaking of the skin days on 3-6 post procedure. This is usually easily managed by using the post procedure kit which will be supplied to you at the time of treatment and easily disguised with a little make up.
Are any pretreatment required?
We would advised that you start on AlumierMD medical grade homecare products before you embark on a course of peels to prepare your skin and optimise your results. If you are using any Retinol containing products these will need to be stopped 7 days prior to your peel. Darker skin types may need pretreatment with specific serums before embarking on a course of chemical peels.
