Your safety is our priority
When you walk through the doors of Cosmetic Perfection here in the Wirral, we want you to feel more than just “at home”. We want you to feel entirely safe, heard, and cared for.
As a doctor, Dr Emma McKay BDS MJDF’s first duty has always been to your wellbeing. That is why it was imperative that we were registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). While many aesthetic clinics choose to operate without this level of oversight, we believe that when it comes to your face and your health, there is no room for “good enough”. Only the highest medical standards will do.
What is a CQC registration?
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. They are the same body that inspects hospitals and GP surgeries. Being a CQC registered aesthetic clinic in Wirral means we are held to the same rigorous standards as any other medical facility.
We are incredibly proud to share that our latest inspection resulted in a “Good” rating across the board. This isn’t just a badge on our website; it’s a reflection of the hard work my team and I put in every single day to ensure your journey with us is seamless and safe.

Why we chose to become CQC regulated
You might wonder why a clinic would “volunteer” for extra inspections and paperwork. For us, the answer is simple: You.
The aesthetics industry is currently under-regulated, meaning almost anyone can pick up a needle. By being CQC-registered, we are giving you a guarantee that:
- We are medically led: Every treatment is overseen by myself.
- Your safety comes first: From the way we store our medicines, how we clean our clinics, to how we store your private medical records, everything is audited to protect you.
- We use the best products: We only use genuine, high-quality products sourced from reputable medical suppliers. Brands include Alumier, Biojuve, and SkinBetter Science.
- We listen: Our rating in the “Caring” and “Responsive” categories means the CQC found that we truly listen to our patients and tailor every treatment to your individual needs.
- We are legally authorised to prescribe medicines and perform ‘regulated activities’, which at Cosmetic Perfection includes:
- Medical weight loss services, including prescription-only injectable weight-loss medications where clinically appropriate.
- Medical botulinum toxin treatments for conditions such as tooth-grinding (bruxism) and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
- Hyaluronidase for the safe dissolution of hyaluronic acid dermal filler in appropriate circumstances. It is absolutely VITAL that the person who is injecting you with filler has access to this medicine to avoid the dangers of mis-injecting filler into a blood vessel which can have terrible consequences. The use of hyaluronidase is tightly regulated in the UK and requires involvement of a qualified medical prescriber and appropriate clinical governance, which is why CQC registration matters.
What our "Good" Rating means for you
During our inspection, the CQC assessed us on five key areas. Here is what that means for your visit to our Wirral clinic:
- Safe: We have robust protocols to prevent infections and manage any rare complications.
- Effective: Our treatments are evidence-based and designed to give you natural, confidence-boosting results.
- Caring: Our team treat you with the kindness and respect you deserve. We never “sell” treatments; we offer solutions. There is also no obligation or pressure to take on any treatment with us at consultation.
- Responsive: We make it easy for you to book, ask questions, and receive the aftercare you need.
- Well-led: We are constantly learning and improving our skills to stay at the forefront of aesthetic medicine.
We know that choosing an aesthetic practitioner can feel overwhelming. There are so many options out there, and it can be hard to know who to trust.
Our goal at Cosmetic Perfection has always been to provide a “personal touch”. We don’t want you to feel like just another appointment in a diary. We want to know your concerns, understand your goals, and help you feel like the best version of yourself.
Our CQC registration is our promise to you that we will never compromise on the quality of your care.
