Rejuvenate and repair skin with exosomes
Exosomes are small, extracellular vesicles, or particles that are naturally released by all cells. The membrane surrounding exosomes is very similar to that of cells and so they have a natural affinity to attach to other cells and empty their contents inside.
They act as messengers, carrying important proteins, lipids, and genetic material between cells. These tiny, yet powerful vesicles have become a breakthrough in skincare, particularly facial treatments.
Exosomes play an vital role in cell communication, making them essential for tissue repair, regeneration, and overall skin health.
How exosomes work in facial treatments
In facial treatments, exosomes are used to rejuvenate and repair the skin at the cellular level. They deliver essential proteins and growth factors directly to damaged skin cells, encouraging natural repair and regenerative processes. The key mechanisms are shown in the diagram.
At Cosmetic Perfection, Wirral, we can incorporate exosomes into bespoke combinational treatments alongside micro needling and polynucleotides.
The benefits of the treatment
Exosome-based facials offer a range of transformative benefits that go beyond typical skincare.
- Exosomes trigger the body’s natural healing processes, promoting the regeneration of skin cells and reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles.
- With the increased delivery of growth factors, exosomes stimulate collagen and elastin production, resulting in firmer, more resilient skin.
- Exosomes help to calm inflammation in the skin, which can be beneficial for those suffering from acne, rosacea, or other inflammatory skin conditions.
- Regular exosome treatments help to even out
the skin tone and smooth rough texture, giving the complexion a brighter, more polished appearance. - Exosome facial treatments target the root cause of ageing at the cellular level, making them highly effective for reducing fine lines, sagging skin, and other signs of ageing.
- Unlike topical skincare products, exosomes work from withing the skin and delivery their cargoes directly to the cells. This provides longer lasting and deeper results. Many patients notice improvements in their skin for months after treatment.

You should always wear a good quality SPF (available via GetHarley) regardless of whether you have had a peel or not. Don’t undo all your hard work!
Your skin should be at its best after 7 – 9 days and may continue to improve. Your skin will be noticeably smoother with an improved tone and texture.
A typical course of treatment will include three to six professional peels over a period of twelve weeks although some clients may need more. We will help you to decide when or if you can have the deeper AlphaRet® 50 peel. Afterwards we’d recommend that you embark on a regular maintenance plan and come to see us for every few months for a peel.
To get the most from your peel treatments you will be supported by a bespoke skincare prescription to follow at home via our GetHarley portal.
