Medical grade peels and prescription skincare
A chemical peel is a treatment used to improve skin texture and tone. An acid is applied to the skin to lower the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, including exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin cells to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant completion.
Alumier MD offer superficial and mid depth peels, which have far less downtime and side effects than deeper peels while achieving radiant results. Alumier’s philosophy is progression not aggression. AlumierMD believe in clean science, their sophisticated formulas are unfragranced, free from parabens, sulphites and dyes. All their packaging is recyclable and all their ingredients are ethically sourced.

Types of Alumier skincare
The AlumierMD peels we offer come in 2 different types. They are either superficial or mid depth. A superficial peels may either have no sensation on the clients skin or may feel slightly ‘itchy’ on the skin. A mid depth peel has a chilli warmth sensation on the skin. The ‘peel’ part of our bespoke peel is only applied to the skin for between 5-20 minute during the 90 minute treatment. The feeling of the peel sensation will be continuously monitored by your practitioner to make sure it is comfortable for you.

Pigmentation
Whether you are aiming or correct photo-damage, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or hormone related melasma, the melanocytes need to be suppressed. Exfoliation will remove pigmented skin cells and accelerate results.

You may peel after a peel, if it is going to happen it usually occurs on days 3-6 post peel. If you don’t peel, it doesn’t mean that the treatment hasn’t worked, you will still be shedding dead skin cells on a microscopic level.
Beautiful skin doesn’t happen overnight. One single chemical peel will provide an immediate effect of bright and radiant skin. However, for significant results dealing with acne, rosacea, ageing or pigmentation problems we would recommend a course of 6 treatments.
Using homecare products consistently and in conjunction with your in-clinic treatments will achieve optimal results. Just as you take time to exercise, you need to take time for your “daily skincare workout regime”.
You won’t be able to apply makeup or wash your face for the rest of the day. You may experience some mild shedding/ flaking of the skin days on 3-6 post procedure. This is usually easily managed by using the post procedure kit which will be supplied to you at the time of treatment and easily disguised with a little make up.

We would advised that you start on AlumierMD medical grade homecare products before you embark on a course of peels to prepare your skin and optimise your results. If you are using any Retinol containing products these will need to be stopped 7 days prior to your peel. Darker skin types may need pre-treatment with specific serums before embarking on a course of chemical peels.
